Akita University Kanto Association organized by faculty members participated in Akita Kanto Festival held in August 3rd to 6th. Kanto Festival has been designated as a significant intangible folk cultural asset and is attracting visitors from all over.
With the signal of echoing sound of the bamboo flutes, 270 Kanto poles were risen at the same time.
The Kanto Festival together with Aomori's Nebuta Festival and Sendai's Tanabata makes up the three great festivals of the Tohoku Region.
