Study abroad information sessions

Get answers to your questions and concerns about studying abroad
and make your study abroad plans!

The Global Center for Higher Education holds study abroad information sessions providing information on study abroad programs. Anyone who is interested in studying abroad is welcome to attend!

Eligibility Undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in studying abroad
Frequency Twice a year (around May and November)
Participation registration We will inform you of the event via the Event Information page and a-net in advance.
If you wish to participate, please register in advance using the registration form.
*Information can only be viewed from the Event Information page during the period when registration is being accepted.
Past Materials Materials will be posted on the Event Information page.

Tutor system

We are looking for students to support international students in their life and studies!

Tutors are students who provide support to international students in their studies, research, and general living. Through tutoring activities, students can increase their interest in international understanding and international cooperation. In addition, tutoring students are paid a wage.

Support Details ?Assistance with various pre-entry procedures, greeting the international student's academic advisor and other staff, assistance with procedures at city hall, a bank, etc.
?Assistance with Japanese language study (homework, help with preparation and review, supplementary correction of reports, etc.)
?Support for daily life (understanding of Japanese lifestyle, advice on daily living, etc.)
?Interpersonal support
Term One semester or school year (approximately 10 hours per month)
Eligibility Students enrolled in each faculty and graduate school

Steps to start tutoring

Tutor Registration

Fill out the Tutor Registration Form and submit it to the International Affairs Division via e-mail.
Applications are accepted at any time.

Tutor Matching Desire Survey

Prior to the beginning of each semester, we will confirm your preferences regarding the duration and languages to be used.
Time February, August

Once you have been matched, you will be a tutor!

At the start of the program, a tutor briefing session will be held to explain advice, things to keep in mind, and submission of reports.
Time April, October

International Exchange Events

Enjoy the exchange with our international students!

The Global Center for Higher Education holds exchange events between international students and Japanese students. We look forward to your participation if you are interested in studying abroad and international exchange.

LET'S MEET UP! -Chatting in Multiple Languages- (conducted face-to-face)
Event Description What we will do at the event;
?To make new friends!
?To learn about different cultures
?Lots of group activities (Group discussions, Walk around campus, Quiz)
Eligibility Akita University students and exchange students
Language There are no limitations when it comes to languages. Use the one you are most comfortable with. Or even mix them up!
Venue On Akita University's Tegata Campus
Frequency Once a month (Time: 4:10 p.m. - 5:10 p.m.)
*Some months may not have any events.
