We are now announcing the opening of applications for Akita University International Student House and International House. To make an application, please follow the procedures below.
 
１．Eligibility：Akita University International Student
 
２．Term of residence：
Maximum of 1 year within the period of Tuesday, September 24^th, 2024 –Friday, September 12^th, 2025
 
３．Number of students to be admitted：A few
 
４．Outlines of International House and International Student House：Please see the attached documents
 
５． Application Period and Procedures：
（１）Selection Method：
If there are more applicants than available rooms, selection will be made in the following order of priority ① to ⑤.
①International exchange student under inter-university(faculty) exchange agreement
②International student newly-enrolled to degree-seeking course
③International student newly-enrolled to non-degree-seeking course
④International student in degree-seeking course
⑤International student in non-degree-seeking course
　  - Privately funded international students take priority over government-financed international students.
- As for newly-enrolled international students, those coming from overseas take priority.
※For current students, dormitory occupancy history and period of study will be considered.
（２）Application Documents：
□Application for Akita University International Student Dormitories (using the indicated application form)
□Copy of Passport　　　□Copy of Residence Card　※If applicable　　
（３）Submission：
Please submit application documents by email to the International Affairs Division, Akita University (ryugaku@jimu.akita-u.ac.jp).
（４）Application Period：From Wednesday, July 10^th, 2024 to Wednesday, July 31^st, 2024 (No later than 5:00 pm)
 
６．Announcement of the Selection Result：
Applicants will be selected based on the selection rules and we will inform applicants of the result via the International Affairs Division email by the late August 2024.
In case of declining residency acceptance, please contact the International Affairs Division by email by Friday, September 13^th, 2024.
７．Important Notices
（１）Applying for both International Student Dormitories and Nishiyachi Dormitory is not permitted.
（２）If there is an incomplete document, we will contact the applicant directly. However, in case the deficiencies in the documents are not resolved (ex. if we cannot get in touch with you or additional documents cannot be made in time etc.), you may not be eligible for the screening.
（３）If you wish to move in the dormitory, regardless of your result of the entrance exam, please apply by the deadline above. Please note that no application will be accepted after the application period.
（４）Personal information on the application documents remain confidential and will only be used for the screening.
