The aim of the Department of School Education
丂Cultivation of future teachers who can contribute to the revitalization of local education
- Cultivation of elementary school teachers who have practical skills over all curriculums/areas and have a deep comprehension and strong devotion for education, growth and the development of children.
- Cultivation of nursery teachers and junior high school teachers who have expertise and can flexibly correspond to the association between preschools and elementary schools, association between elementary schools and junior high schools, association between junior high schools and high schools and association between the schools and companies.
- Cultivation of teachers and nursery teachers who can flexibly correspond to diverse and important educational problems in the modern society, such as English education corresponding to the globalization, science/mathematics education for stopping the students' shifting away from science/mathematics, special support education based on the principle of the inclusive education, child-support for families, etc.
Features of Education Method
- We cooperate with the local educational society to construct new practical educational system, where the university is closely linked with the field of education. Our purpose is to enable the traffic between theories and practices so that the practical skills of education can be cultivated with the cooperation between the field of education and the university.
- Various curriculums are provided, that correspond to, for example, the special support education, activities in foreign language and science experiments in elementary schools, childcare support, education for disaster prevention and education with ICT application.
- Teaching profession seminars, education welfare practices (experiencing nursing care, etc.) and teaching practices in the associated schools and public schools are systematically positioned in the study course of four years.
- By studying the education practice, students can have close communication with children through the volunteer activities in the schools, children's house or youth outdoor learning centers.
